Yes, that is certainly possible. However, keep in mind that birds often build a new nest every year, building their own nest is part of the breeding season. We therefore recommend removing the nest from the birdhouse after the breeding season and throwing it away, and then thoroughly cleaning the birdhouse itself. This prevents pests such as parasites from remaining in the nest area. This way you attract the birds to a clean, fresh birdhouse next year and the birds will make a new nest in it themselves.
